　金かけて自宅を改装したので、トイレがにわかに綺麗になり、そんなら丁寧に使おうってことで今上期の目標を「座り小便の励行」に設定して約四ヶ月。確かにトイレは汚れなくなったようだが、一方でトイレットペーパーの消費は激増の一途なのである。

　私しか住んでおらず、取り立てて客も来ないのだからトイレットペーパーの消費増大はすなわち私の自宅でのうんこ回数の増加か、あるいは拭きにくい類のうんこの増加による一回当たりのペーパー消費の拡大が背景にあると思われた。

　結論から言えば、座り小便はうんこ回数を増やす効果をもたらすようである。パンツ下ろして小便するついでに出てしまううんこは止めようがない。ただし、一日数回自宅で実施する小便のたびにうんこを出すのはたとえそれが少量であったとしても拭かないという選択肢は存在し得ない。

　それゆえ、誘発されたうんこのたびにトイレットペーパーがおおいに消費されることとなり、気がつくと「あれ、もう紙ないの」という事態に直結することとなる。さっきも危うく紙なしの状態に気づかずうんこを放つところであったが、手持ちの水溶性ティッシュのお陰で難を逃れた。一度出してしまったうんこを拭かずに自宅をパンツ下げたまま紙探しの巡業に出るのは屈辱の極みである。一人暮らしで良かったと実感するひとときだ。

　このトイレットペーパー消費の劇的な増加によって地球環境に与えるダメージは甚大ではないかと思われる。少なくともうんこ回数は日に一回か二回から、多いときで五回以上になっているわけで、使われるトイレットペーパーは二倍以上、酷い場合だと三倍になろうかという惨状である。これが座り小便の国家規模の普及によって、クールビズとか言ってる場合ではないぐらい悲劇的な環境破壊が繰り広げられる可能性は捨てきれない。よもや再編が加速する紙・パルプ業界がトイレットペーパーの需要拡大のために乾坤一擲の妙手を打ちやがったのかと邪推せずにはいられないぐらい良くできた話である。

　座り小便のうんこ誘発はトイレットペーパーの需要拡大のみならず、うんこしてるとき用週刊誌の購読数増加という副産物も生み出す可能性がある。現在ただでさえ雑誌スキーな私の場合、トイレにうんこ用の雑誌が山積みになっており、これらの乱読の結果としてみだりにうんこ時間の革命的長期化という悪弊を呼び起こしたのは論を俟たない。

　最近では携帯電話の持ち込みによって雑誌の需要が減ることが予想された。だがしかし、過日うんこ中に熱心に携帯画面を見ていたら突然電話が着信しやがって手が滑り、あわや関東大震災なみの大惨事が出来するかという心臓が無期限停止しかねない状況があったため、賢い私は本件災害を避けるために極力うんこ中の携帯電話の使用は避けるようになったのである。ちなみに本件電話を入れてきたのは現在週刊SPA!編集長に着任されている光明氏であった。しかも内容がくだらなかった。

　いずれにせよ、掃除要らずの座り小便のメリットばかりが喧伝される現在の風潮に強く異議を唱えるべき時期に差し掛かっているのは間違いのないことである。悲劇は繰り返されるからこそ悲劇なのであって、環境重視経済への転換が社会的急務である我が国を支える国民諸氏におかれては、以上議論を充分吟味のうえ充実した快便を日々ひり出されたい。
